Our Foremost Duty & The need of the hour

Vedo Rakshati Rakshitaha - If we contribute towards vedas, Vedas in turn will bless us

It is well known that there are lots of divya deshams, abhimaana kshetrams across Bharata Desham. Every temple has various festivals like Bramhotsavam, Adhyayanotsavam, Pavitrotsavam, Tirunakshatra Utsavams of Aazhwaars & Aacharyas, Avataara Utsavams Of the presiding deities, samprokshanam etc. Our ancestors / forefathers who studied Vedas, divya prabandham performed meritorious ubhaya veda kainkaryam at temples. It was considered as their foremost duty.

Nowadays ; except very few top divya kshetrams, THERE IS NO UBHAYA VEDA (Veda, Divya Prabandha) GOSHTI in many divya deshams. The reasons are as follows

-While many people are taking up utsava - Tirumanjana ubhayam, there are very very few or no takers for sponsoring parayanam

-Veda, Divya Prabandha scholars too have families to take care of. So, majority of them, opt for work out of which, they make a living

- Even if some of them decide to perform parayana kainkaryam, issues like transportation - accommodation & food (for a given festival's duration) crop up. Eventually they end up merely participating for a session or a couple of sessions

It is well known that VEDAM & DIVYA PRABANDHAM are the two eyes of SRIMAN NARAYANA. If we are unable to perform kainkaryam, We should patronise those who are performing such great kainkaryam & encourage more pundits to perform goshti kainkaryam.

While there is no cap on the maximum number of swamis who can perform kainkaryam, a minimum of 15 swamis each, for VEDAM & DIVYA PRABANDHAM are needed for the entire duration of a given utsavam.

SAMPRADAYA KAINKARYA SABHA humbly appeals to Aastikaas to take up this noble kainkaryam & contribute generously towards Ubhaya Veda Parayana Sambhavana, Tadeeyaradhanai - (Food for Parayana Swamis prepared by Cooks in Swaroopam), Dhotis & Shawls (To be presented along with Sambhavana after a particular Utsavam at a given Kshetram gets over)
